Tree of Life Viking Axe

Tree of Life Viking Axe

SKU: CMAXE1-1 Category:

The heads of these axes are crafted from steel, just like traditional axes. The patterns on the heads are not merely printed but are milled into the metal, creating a raised Tree of Life motif that resembles a relief.
In Viking legend, Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life, is a massive ash tree, so the handles of these Viking axes are also made of ash wood. Ash wood is a very strong yet flexible hardwood, making it a popular material for bows, tools, and handles for quality tools.

Yggdrasil – Tree of Life
Yggdrasil (ᛦᚵᛑᚱᛆᛋᛁᛚ) is known in Viking sagas as the Tree of Life, a sacred ash tree. Many ancient religions and faiths feature a huge, mystical tree similar to Yggdrasil. In Germanic and Scandinavian mythology, the Tree of Life (or, in other words, the World Tree) is an ash tree whose canopy is covered by clouds, and whose roots extend all the way to the underworld. It symbolizes the center of the world, with the cosmos surrounding the tree. Its unimaginably vast branches and colossal roots hold and connect different parts of the world together.
The primary meaning of the Tree of Life is creation and consciousness. The tree’s growth symbolizes the evolution of the universe.
